  About Abergavenny Film Society

UPDATED TUESDAY 7th JULY 2020

We hope to be able to announce our plans for the 2020-2021 season within a few weeks.

Abergavenny Film Society, the longest running in Wales, was established in 1978 by a group of friends with a common interest in world cinema and independent films. From the outset, the Society has shown programmes of films carefully chosen from what they consider to be the best available from around the world. Our 2019/2020 season, starting on 25th September 2019, is no exception.

Click on 'Programme' above to see the full list of films, or select a film from the menu on the right.

Equal emphasis has always been given to the social side of the society and to promote this the society runs its own bar, offering drinks and light snacks before the film and during the intermission. Film notes are available on the door and audience members are encouraged to comment on and rate the film they have seen. We use audience reactions to help us when choosing films.
